The formulation and testing of bottle function standards is the core of the whole bottle quality control. It directly reflects whether the bottle meets the requirements for use.
Generally speaking, the functional quality control and testing of injection-blow bottles and injection-stretch blowing bottles may involve the following items according to the requirements of their products:
1. Mating performance
Ensure that the bottle cap fits smoothly and meet the requirements of the machine. Generally, the coordination method of the bottle cap (or pump head) is mainly spiral structure or snap structure. There are specific requirements for the torque of bottle caps with different diameter thread structures. To ensure that the bottle cap meets the requirements of the bottle cap, the buckle structure can test the pressure, opening force and pulling force of the cap, which are all related to the structure and size of the bottle.
2. Sealing performance
Because the size of the injection and injection stretch-blow bottle mouth is high and stable. It is widely used in packaging of food, medicine and cosmetics with sealing requirements. In addition to using various forms of gaskets to ensure the seal, for the direct sealing design of the bottle, it is also necessary to control and test the sealing performance of the bottle.
There are two main ways of sealing test: vacuum test or hydrostatic test. There are standard requirements for medicine bottle testing, which basically adopts vacuum test. There are clear requirements for vacuuming method, conditions, capping force, etc. For details, please refer to the national standard for sealing test of medicine bottle. Taking into account the characteristics of the contents, cap structure and use environment, appropriate sealing performance monitoring methods have been developed for food and cosmetic bottles. If the sealing requirements are high, the built-in or water absorption test can be used. Generally, the built-in or standstill can be used, and the time can be set according to actual needs.
It should be emphasized that bottle caps of different structures and materials can achieve different sealing effects, so it must be considered at the beginning of the design. For general requirements, the small diameter thread structure can meet the sealing requirements. For higher requirements or stronger installation diffusion, the threaded fitting structure and gasket auxiliary sealing can be considered. For low requirements, such as solid candy that is not easy to absorb moisture, a large diameter or buckle structure can be used.
3. Resistant to impact or drop
In order to prevent the bottle from breaking or the cap from being broken due to the falling of the bottle during the shelf, transportation and use of the product, the impact resistance of the cap can be monitored and tested. You can set up the test as needed. It can be loaded with contents or water and dropped freely (or directed) onto a hard ground or flat surface at a certain height to check its integrity. For products with special requirements, such as use in a low temperature environment, especially PP bottles, the sample can be frozen after being dropped, and its performance can be tested. The drop performance and bottle material, thickness, stretch ratio, bottle structure, etc. are all related to the drop requirements of the product. The design needs to consider the selection of materials in advance, and the injection and blowing bottle needs to design reasonable wall thickness, stretch ratio, bottle bottom structure and bottle body reinforcement.
4. Other functional tests
For bottles with special requirements, testing items can be designed according to needs. For example, in order to meet the requirements of storage and transportation or routing capping, the pressure resistance of the bottle can be designed and tested.
